Disney Movies Coming Out In 2018
If you follow along you all, know that we are the biggest Disney, Pixar, and Marvel fans! We just love watching movies together. Whether it’s a kids movie or Marvel movie for date nights. It’s a fantastic way to get away from the real world and allow these Disney movies coming out in 2018 to take us to another world!
Let’s get started!
February 16th, 2018 – Black Panther (Marvel Studios)
First, one to be released this year is Black Panther from Marvel Studios. By the way, make sure to follow along with the amazing 25 bloggers heading out to LA for the press event and red carpet movie premiere starting next week (#BlackPantherEvent).
About Black Panther
“Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.”
March 9th, 2018 – A Wrinkle In Time (Walt Disney Studios)
The next Disney movie to hit theaters in 2018 is the story based on author Madeleine L’Engle’s timeless classic story A Wrinkle In Time. I love movies that are created from books because it allows our imagination to create the story we see before we get to experience what a company like Disney would do with it. Plus, I always get excited to see what Disney has in store for my birthday month! My daughter and I are reading this book together right now and can’t wait to see it together.
About A Wrinkle In Time
“Meg Murry is a typical middle school student struggling with issues of self-worth who just wants to fit in. The daughter of two world-renowned physicists, she is intelligent and uniquely gifted, as is Meg’s younger brother, Charles Wallace, but she has yet to realize it for herself. Complicating matters is the mysterious disappearance of Mr. Murry, which has left Meg devastated and her mother broken-hearted.
Charles Wallace introduces Meg and her fellow classmate Calvin to three celestial beings (Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who) who have journeyed to Earth to help search for their father, and together they embark on their formidable quest. Travelling via a wrinkling of time and space known as tessering, they are transported to worlds beyond their imagination where they must confront a powerful evil force. To make it back home to Earth, Meg must face the darkness within herself in order to harness the strength necessary to defeat the darkness rapidly enveloping the Universe.”
May 4th, 2018 – Avengers: Infinity War (Marvel Studios)
Avengers: Infinity War is one of those movies that doesn’t need any introduction. Everyone is excited about this Marvel movie to come out so we can finally see our favorite Marvel heroes in action together. I’m hoping for some great comedy like Guardians of the Galaxy and amazing action scenes. But most of all I’m hoping for lots and lots of scenes with Ant-Man himself, Paul Rudd! By the way, Marvel, what’s with not adding Ant-Man in the trailer we all waited so long to see? Just saying, you lost a lot of marketing with not adding Paul Rudd in that trailer!
We have some high expectations for this Avengers movie!
About Avengers: Infinity War
“An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.”
May 25th, 2018 – Solo: A Star Wars Story (Lucasfilm)
With Star Wars having such amazing years with Rogue One, The Force Awakens, and The Last Jedi, how is Lucasfilm going to top those? One thing I know for sure, we can’t wait to see Han Solo’s story unfold on the big screen. I’m also hoping for some unanswered questions from his past.
Trailer Coming Soon!
About Solo: A Star Wars Story
“Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.”
June 15th, 2018 – Incredibles 2 (Disney/Pixar)
This most famous superfamily is finally back for part 2. I know many fans who have been waiting for the return of the Incredibles. Nothing says family time like defeating evil villains together. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen our favorite superfamily and I can’t wait to see Jack-Jack’s superpowers in action.
About Incredibles 2
Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
July 6th, 2018 – Ant-Man and The Wasp (Marvel Studios)
If you ask me I would have suggested to start off 2018 with THE best movie Marvel Studios has coming out in 2018, but they didn’t so Ant-Man, and The Wasp will be opening up summer with a bang! While everyone is chanting Infinity Wars, I’m over here like Ant-Man, Ant-Man! I loved the first one so much and will admit that I’m all for Paul Rudd! I mean all the way! Plus, with him being one of the screenwriters, I know he won’t let me down! Also, can’t forget my Lost girl Evangeline Lilly. Can’t wait to see her kick some booty on this one!
Trailer Coming Soon! Come on Marvel I’m dying over here waiting!!!
About Ant-Man and The Wasp
“From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink: “Ant-Man and The Wasp.” In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang (Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.”
August 3rd, 2018 – Disney’s Christopher Robin (Walt Disney Studios)
I’ve been a long fan of Winnie the Pooh since I could remember. Even in high school, my entire room was decorated with Winnie the Pooh photos and plush toys. I’m excited to see the story unfold with the little boy who started it all, Christopher Robin.
Trailer Coming Soon!
About Disney’s Christopher Robin
“In the heartwarming live action adventure “Disney’s Christopher Robin,” the young boy who loved embarking on adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with a band of spirited and loveable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it’s up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.”
November 2nd, 2018 – The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (Walt Disney Studios)
When I think of the Nutcracker, I think of an enchanted classic tale that we all know and love. Especially during the Christmas holidays. As a former dancer and a mom of a little dancer, these are the movies that I can’t wait for 2018 so that I can take my little girl. I know that she is going to love all of the bright colors and costumes.
About The Nutcracker and the Four Realms
“All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world. Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Disney’s new holiday feature film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” is directed by Lasse Hallström and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale.”
November 21st, 2018 – Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 (Walt Disney Animation Studios)
My girls are so excited to see Ralph and Vanellope back on the big screen! Wreck-It Ralph was a huge success, and it’s one of our favorite characters to see during Halloween time at Walt Disney World Resorts. We can’t wait to see what trouble Ralph gets himself into this time.
Trailer Coming Soon!
About Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2
“Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 leaves Litwak’s video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet—which may or may not survive Ralph’s wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope’s video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizens of the internet—the netizens—to help navigate their way, including a website entrepreneur named Yesss (voice of Taraji P. Henson), who is the head algorithm and the heart and soul of trend-making site “BuzzzTube.”
December 25th, 2018 – Mary Poppins Returns (Walt Disney Studios)
Disney most definitely left the best for last on the movie list for 2018! Growing up Mary Poppins was one of my favorite Disney movies to watch over and over again. Emily Blunt has some huge shoes to fill with Julie Andrews bringing the character to live back in 1964. I would have loved if Disney had chosen to bring back our favorite nanny in August, the same month the original Mary Poppins debuted. But I do not blame them for wanting to close out 2018 in movies with a spoonful of sugar!
Trailer Coming Soon!
About Mary Poppins Return
“PL Travers first introduced the world to the no-nonsense nanny in her 1934 children’s book “Mary Poppins.” However, the subsequent adventures of Mary Poppins remained only on the pages of the seven other PL Travers’ books…until now. “Mary Poppins Returns” is drawn from the wealth of material in these additional books. The film takes place in 1930s Depression-era London 24 years after the original film was set. Michael Banks works for the same financial institution that employed his father and still lives in 17 Cherry Tree Lane with his three children, Annabel, John and Georgie and their housekeeper Ellen. Carrying on in her mother’s tradition, Jane Banks campaigns for workers’ rights and provides a helping hand to Michael’s family. When the family suffers a personal loss, Mary Poppins magically re-enters their lives and with Jack’s help, brings joy and wonder back into their home.”
2018 is going to be a spectacular year for Disney movies, and I’m hoping to be apart of a few of them! With so many different storylines and adventures on the horizon for this year, how will Disney top 2019?
