Now that I have shared all the fun that happened at the world premiere, I can share my Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Movie Review and a parents guide if it’s appropriate for kids. Not only did we get to walk the red carpet, but we also had the opportunity to watch the movie at the Dolby Theater with the cast sitting behind us. The same theater where the Oscars take place! Hands down coolest way to watch the Guardians of the Galaxy!
Disney invited me to attend the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Premiere in LA. All galactic opinions are my own.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Movie Review | Is It Appropriate For Kids? #GotGVol2Event
When it comes to Marvel movies, well, it’s a bit difficult to explain! They are just so amazingly awesome and so many details go into the storyline. So, for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 I’m going to start by saying that this is by far my favorite thus far! Now, let’s not get confused with the Disney movies, Beauty and the Beast is way up there, but when it comes to Marvel films, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is by far the BEST ever!
I will answer you the one question all of my family and friends have been asking. Is Volume 2 better than Volume 1? Hmm… YES!! Yes, Volume 2 is better than Volume 1! So, don’t miss it in theaters May 5th! Now that I got that out of the way let’s get on with my no-spoiler review below!
I don’t want to say much, so I don’t give away all the fun stuff! So, let’s look at the comedy!
Laughter Is The Best Medicine
If you thought Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 was funny, then you better hold on to your strap boots because Volume 2 will have you crying with laughter. Dave Bautista, as Drax is just hysterical. His jokes are on point and will have you rolling on the floor! Well, don’t actually roll on the floor, theaters are pretty dirty! Yuck!
In all seriousness, the jokes are more in between, and every character gets their turn! Including baby Groot!
The Storyline Is Heartfelt
Okay, so I don’t want to give anything away, but the storyline tugs at your heart. Not in a cheesy way either. We know that Kurt Russell who plays EGO is the Star-Lords father, played by Chris Pratt. By the way, did you read about the time he gave me a high five at the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 premiere, no? Then you better head on over to read all about it! Go ahead! I’ll wait right here….
Like I was saying, the storyline is great, and it gives us some backstory about Star-Lord himself. Plus, we also get to see some of our favorite characters go through some new emotional changes and some we didn’t like, we now like. Hope you’re paying attention.
It Is Appropriate For Kids?
This will all depend on what you allow your children to watch. Just like the first one, there aren’t any sexual scenes in the movie. The film is filled with fast action and fighting scenes which are to be expected. Come on! They’re saving the galaxy! There is some language in the movie that I would not allow my girls to watch, so we might wait for them to watch this one for just a bit. My oldest is going to be disappointed, but she’ll get over it when I tell her Descendants 2 is coming out!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is amazing and a must see! So make sure to get your tickets early, because after all of these reviews I have feeling tickets will be selling out!
