Paper Plate Cow Mask Craft For Kids
One of the things that my girls love the most is dressing up and pretend play.
Even as they get older I still see the love of being creative and using their imagination.
Being able to add books to craft time for the kids is a great way to not only add creativity time but reading as well.
There are so many books that kids can choose and then create an activity with it.
For this craft, we chose Click Clack, Moo Cows That Type a Caldecott Award book

How To Choose A Book To Create An Activity Or Craft
There is really no special way to choose a book when it comes to creating a craft or activity to go along with it.
I always make sure that my girls have read the book and it’s something that they love.
This book was one of their favorite books growing up and always kept their attention.
Most definitely make sure that your child loves the book and it inspires them to be creative.

How To Make A Cow Mask For Kids
This cow craft is super easy for the kids to make and will make a great play mask.
- Start by painting black or brown cow spots on your paper plate using the flat sponge brush.
Don’t worry, there’s no right way to do this, just let your child use their imagination.
Tip: You could also use a regular brush if you would like to create the cow spots on your plate.
I found that the sponge brush worked better than the regular brush.
Also, if you don’t want to use paint you could also tear out some black construction paper as your spots and glue them down.
- Glue down your googly eyes on your paper plate using craft glue.
- Using construction paper cut out two cow ears.
- With the black construction paper cut out smaller cow ears.
- Glue your black cow ear pieces on your white pieces.
- Now attach your ears on the back of your paper plate using craft glue.
- With pink construction paper cut out a large snout for your cow.
- Using a black marker draw a mouth and nostrils on your pink snout.
- Now it’s time to attach your craft stick on your paper plate cow to turn it into a mask.
- Tape your craft stick to the back of your cow.
Tip: We used tape rather than glue because it seems to make the mask sturdier and the girls didn’t have to wait for it to dry before they can play.
If you wanted to cut out eye holes, rather than gluing down googly eyes you can do that as well.
Let your imagination take hold and go with it!
