It’s been six years since we saw the infamous Captain Jack Sparrow on the big screen for Pirateof the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. He’s back this time with a new cast and new adventures. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Review | The Return of Jack Sparrow is now in theaters. Today I’m sharing my no spoiler movie review.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Review | The Return of Jack Sparrow #PiratesLife
Six years is a long time since I’ve seen my favorite pirate Jack Sparrow on the screen, but with all the talk of the new movie, I had to see for myself if it was worth all the hype. I’ve read bad reviews and good reviews, but I prefer to decide for myself. Especially when it comes to Johnny Depp.
I’m going to start off my saying that the first Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl was my absolutely favorite. Mostly because it was the beginning of Jack Sparrow’s adventures. Dead Men Tell No Tales would have to be my second favorite out of all the Pirates movies. This is why…
Captain Salazar
Javier Bardem, who plays Captain Salazer really steals the scenes in the newest Pirates movies. Surprisingly Captain Jack Sparrow is taking a little bit more of a backseat driver when it comes to his role, but that’s okay. As a big a fan of Jonny Depp that I am, I was okay with having a new pirate take center stage.
Captain Salazar, is a fantastic addition to the new pirate’s movies and really brings the character to life. If anything, he actually keeps the movie and viewers on the edge of their seat.
The Storyline
Like the first Pirates of the Carribean movie, the storyline is exciting and as a big Greek mythology fan, this story line really spoke to me. As the characters are in search of Poseidon’s Trident, they give a bit of background of Captain Jack Sparrow’s past and how he actually became a Captain. Which in turn is why Captain Salazar is hunting him down.
We also see some of Captain Barbosa, who by the way is leading a very well life. I for one was excited to see him as part of the cast and back to his old conniving ways.
The New Cast
I absolutely loved the new cast and it really reminded me of a young Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom. I can definitely see the pirate’s movie going into a new direction with the new cast. Both Kaya Scodelario and Brenton Thwaites did the characters justice.
Will Turners son, “Henry” is determined to free his father from the Flying Dutchman. Reminding Orlando Bloom fans that Will Turner is no longer the hero of these tales. Instead, we look to new female lead Carina.
Carina, living from her father’s memories is a strong female lead. She might even be a strong female role than Elizabeth was. Showing young girls that being smart is more attractive than a beautiful face. Using science to help Jack Sparrow and Henry find Trident of Poseidon. She is a leading lady that I want to see on the big screen.
Special Surprises
There were a few surprises that I’m dying to share with all of you, but as I promised a not spoiler review I will keep my lips sealed! Just make sure to go watch it and let me know what your thoughts were below! Oh, and don’t miss a special guest shown behind bars.

About Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales:
Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The rip-roaring adventure finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
