Walt Disney Family Museum, COCO, and Pixar Oh My! | Follow My Adventures To San Francisco #PixarCocoEvent
It’s been a rough year for me, and trips like this do bring me back to “life.” Sounds like an exaggeration? Ask my hubby; he knows it all too well! This trip will not only take me to a city I’ve never visited, but I will be experiencing two things that I’ve had on my bucket list for ever, and it might also be my last trip of the year before my reconstruction surgery in October. Who knows? I was up and flying out to L.A. for the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 Event exactly six weeks after my previous surgery, but only time and fate will tell. One thing I do know, I will be cherishing every moment of this unbelievable trip and!

Disney*Pixar COCO
On our first day of our two-day trip to San Francisco, we will be screening a footage of COCO at the Pixar Animation Studio. Introduced by Director Lee Unkrich, Writer and Co-Director Adrian Molina and Producer Darla K. Anderson.
Pixar Animation Studios and Disney*Pixar COCO
Our second day will be pretty surreal because I will be checking off something on my bucket list that I never thought I would get the opportunity to do. I will be visiting the Pixar Animation Studios for our COCO experience and interviews. I’m taking a million photos to share with all of you and to make sure that I remember this trip for ever! Oh, and did I mention shopping at the Pixar store?

We will be presented a demo with Michael Giacchino (Composer), Germaine Franco (Orchestrator), Camilo Lara (Consultant) & Adrian Molina (Writer and Co-Director).
COCO Filmmaker Presentations
A UNIVERSAL STORY OF FAMILY
Hear how the COCO production team was inspired by research and specific cultural traditions, and how they infused them into their fantastical story set on Día de los Muertos. Participants include Adrian Molina (Writer and Co-Director), Dean Kelly (Story Artist).
THE LAND OF THE LIVING AND THE LAND OF THE DEAD
See how the expansive worlds of both the living and the dead were created through both research and imagination. Participants include Harley Jessup (Production Designer), Danielle Feinberg (DP-Lighting), Chris Bernardi (Sets Supervisor).
BRINGING SKELETONS TO LIFE
Learn how the skeletons in the Land of the Dead were imagined, designed, animated and clothed. Participants include Daniel Arriaga (Character Art Director), Gini Santos (Supervising Animator), Byron Bashforth (Character Shading Lead), Emron Grover (Simulation Technical Director).
PEPITA AND DANTE: A CLOSER LOOK
In the Land of the Dead, Miguel and his faithful companion Dante encounter not only his ancestors but also their loyal guardian Pepita, a magical creature based on Mexican folk art. Hear about how they were designed and brought to life. Participants include Alonso Martinez (Character/Rigging Artist), Nick Rosario (Directing Animator), Christian Hoffman (Characters Supervisor).

Walt Disney Family Museum
Bucket list item number 2, CHECK! As a Disney fanatic, nerd, enthusiast, and anything else you would like to add to that, the Walt Disney Family Museum has been on my bucket list for some time now. Living in Florida gives me the best of all the Disney parks, but there a few things missing here that fulfills all of my Disney Nerdist! Here are some of the unique things we will be experiencing on the Walt Disney Family Museum.
- A guided walk-through of the “Deja View: The Art of Andreas Deja” exhibit.
*Andreas Deja was the Supervising Animator for “Scar” in THE LION KING and touring the exhibit in honor of the film being released on Digital and Disney Movies Anywhere, 8/15 & Blu-ray, 8/29
- A guided walk-through of the “Awaking Beauty: The Art of Eyvind Earle” exhibit.
- A guided tour to of the entire Walt Disney Family Museum.
Well, there you have it! Two days filled with checking off bucket list items and learning all about Disney*Pixar newest animation film COCO!
