Interviews with Dancing with the Stars Pros and Dancing with the Stars Juniors Mentors
My press trip to LA for Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms movie premiere couldn’t have gotten any better. That is until they told us we would be taking dance classes with some of the Dancing with the Stars pros! On our first night in LA, we headed to Pro Dance LA. A dance studio owned by pro dancer Gleb Savchenko and his wife Elena Samodanova.
Anyone who is a fan of the shows Dancing with the Stars and Dancing with the Stars Juniors couldn’t be but excited to be in the same room as Brandon Armstrong, Alan Bersten, and Gleb Savchenko. Especially when you get to meet them in person and see first hand how sweet and passionate they are about their partners on the show.
What Advice Would You Give Young Dancers?
When asked what advice they would give young dancers they all agreed that they should always follow their dreams. To work hard, because if they can dream of becoming a professional dancer, then it was possible. Gleb Savchenko even shared with us how he grew up without a lot of money and now he can’t believe that he is not only dancing on the most popular dancing show on television but he and his wife own Pro Dance LA. A popular dance studio where they encourage how dancers to follow their dreams.
Is It Harder To Mentor Adults Or Children?
If you follow the show, you know that Dancing with the Stars is about mentoring adult stars and Dancing with the Stars Juniors is about mentoring kids who are stars. The pro dancers and mentors shared that both the adults and children are very similar when it comes to mentoring, but the big difference is that the adults are too much in their heads. They think about every little detail and what others will think of their performance. While the kids are more about having fun, being in the moment and with their innocent, they are not really thinking how they look on stage. Rather than enjoying themselves.
Creating Choreography For The Show
As a fan of the shows, my family and I enjoy watching all of the choreographies and how the stars improve each week. What we don’t see is all the hard work that goes behind each performance before it even airs. The pro dancers shared with us that before they even teach the choreography to the stars they need to create it, mark it for the cameras, create costumes, and make sure that it all goes well together before going live for us to watch.
About Pro Dance LA
Pro Dance LA dance studio is owned by Dancing with the Stars mentor Gleb Savchenko and his wife Elena Samodanova. Where they train students in the ballroom and Latin dancing. They both are professional and competitor dancers with the highest qualifications in the ballroom and Latin dances. If you’re in the LA area you should check out Pro Dance LA.
About Dancing with the Stars
The competition begins with an all-new cast of celebrities who will be paired up with the show’s pro dancers and brave the dance floor for the very first time. Each week these celebrities will leave their comfort zones and endure hours of grueling rehearsals to master new dance styles and technical choreography to perform a dance, which will be judged by a panel of renowned ballroom experts as well as voted upon by viewers. In the end, only one star will rise above the rest to be crowned champion and win the coveted Mirrorball trophy.
