If you are a fan of ABC TV then you know that they have some great shows going on right now. During our LA trip, we had the opportunity to visit the Dr. Ken Set and Interview the Cast, which by the way is tremendous!
I was invited by Disney to attend the LA Red Carpet Premier and Press Junket for the #MoanaEvent, #ABCTVEvent and #StuckInTheMiddleEvent. This special invitation is an all expense paid trip, but all magical opinions are mine alone.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out ABC’s Dr. Ken, then you need to do so right away. Not only does it have some amazing actors on the show that I know you will recognize, but the show really brings a fun side of the medicine world. Especially when you have Ken Jeong, who created, writes, and co-produces the show.
About Dr. Ken:
Ken Jeong stars as the titular character, who continues to be the hilarious general practitioner we all know and love. He has a smart and beautiful wife, two decent kids and a loyal but sometimes irritating support staff in a job where he gets to help people on a daily basis, all the while using his unique sense of humor to get him through the day. Doctor turned actor/comedian Ken Jeong plays Dr. Ken, a brilliant physician with no bedside manner. He is always trying to be a good doctor, as well as a good husband and dad to his two kids. Luckily, his therapist wife Allison is just the right partner to keep things sane.
Check out this clip from the episode “Busted”:
Make sure to watch Dr. Ken on ABC now showing season 2 on Fridays at 8:30pm EST / 7:30pm C. That means that it’s on tonight, so don’t miss it! Plus, you can go on to the ABC website and watch episodes you’ve missed!
During our visit on set we also got a chance to sit with the entire cast and chat for a bit. Everyone was so nice and the cast was so excited to speak to us as well. You can tell that they are all really fond of each other and love working together.
Ken Jeong who writes and co produces the show says that he really tries to add in as much realism he can from his own experiences and his wife, who is also a doctor. While making sure that he is being sensitive to all situations, because you never know who’s watching and what they are going through in life.
Ken also shared that his wife helped created and shape some of the dialogue for Allison, who plays his wife on the show. They both want to make sure that it’s as accurate as possible, while making sure that they are bringing in the laughter and comedy aspect as well.
We also had the opportunity to take some pictures with the cast and they were so wonderful in doing so. They each took time to take individual pictures with us and anything else that we needed. So take a look at some of the pictures of the cast and set of Dr. Ken!
I got to meet Tisha Campbell Martin, who plays Damona and she was the sweetest person ever! She made sure to shake each of our hands and introduce herself to us. Super genuine!
We all know Tisha Campbell Martin from shows like “My Wife And Kids”, which she won an award for best actress. We also know her from “Rita Rocks’, Martin, and “The Fresh Prince of Bell Air”.
Jonathan Slavin plays Clark on the show. He is also on the ABC show Speechless, which I shared about a few days ago. We have also seen him on Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad, among many more.
We also met Dave Foley, who plays Pat on the show. We all know Dave Foley from “Kids In the Hall” of course and “How I Met Your Mother”, among many more!
Suzy Nakamura is hilarious, just as she is on the show playing Allison. Suzy and I had a quick laugh about a comment I made thinking that I was talking to one of my peers. ThenI look over and it was her! We all know her from “The Goldbergs” and “Modern Family”.
Ken Jeong was a delight to speak with. I told him that my husband was a big fan of his and he was so grateful. We all know Ken from of course “The Hang Over”, which earned him an MTV Movie Award. He also was in “Knocked Up” and “Role Models”.
Although, I don’t have pictures with them, I also got to meet Albert Tsai, who plays Dave, Dr. Ken’s son on the show. He has been on “How I Met Your Mother” and “Trophy Wife”.
Krista Marie Yu, who plays Molly, Dr. Ken’s daughter. We have seen her on shows like Nickelodeon’s “The Thundermans” and “Cougar Town”.
Dana Lee plays D.K., Ken’s gruff, Korean father who has moved into the Park family’s home. He was on the 1970s martial arts drama, “Kung Fu,” and worked on “Rambo: First Blood, Part II.”
So make sure to tune in tonight for Dr. Ken on ABC at 8:30pm EST!
