Easy and Delicious Breakfast Avena Smoothie Recipe

The best thing about this breakfast Avena smoothie recipe is that it’s under 375 calories and has tons of nutritious vitamins and minerals all in one drink for moms an enjoy on the go! An Avena smoothie with Nestlé Carnation Breakfast Essentials® is my favorite meal, especially when I’m heading to the gym.

Breakfast Avena Smoothie Recipe WalMart

All of the ingredients needed for my Avena smoothie were found at my local Walmart. So much easier when you can find everything that you need in one place. You can find the Nestlé Carnation Breakfast Essentials® in a variety of flavors like Classic French Vanilla or Milk Chocolate in the cereal aisle at your local Walmart. I also purchased some fresh strawberries, cinnamon sticks, and sugar.

Breakfast Avena Smoothie Recipe Ingredients

Ingredients Needed

  • 1 packet of Nestlé Carnation Breakfast Essentials® vanilla flavor
  • Cinnamon stick
  • 3 tablespoon of Avena (Cream of Wheat)
  • Strawberries or your favorite type of fruit
  • 1 1/2 cup of Milk (we use soy milk)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of sugar or 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • Ice cubes
  • To go cup

Breakfast Avena Smoothie Recipe On Stove

Before sharing the recipe there are two ways that you can make your Avena smoothie. You can use the stove top or the microwave when you are in a hurry. I have shared both below. The pictures will show you how easy it is to create on the stove and the Instagram video was created using the microwave.

Recipe Instructions

  • In a small pot on medium high heat add 1 packet of Nestlé Carnation Breakfast Essentials, 3 tablespoons of Avena (cream of wheat), 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, 1 1/2 cup of milk, and your cinnamon stick.

Breakfast Avena Smoothie Recipe Cooking

  • Using a whisk mix all the ingredients together and allow to slightly boil. Then lower temperature to low and cook for another minutes or so, whisking in between.

Breakfast Avena Smoothie Recipe Blender

  • Add ice cubes in your blender or mixer. Take your cinnamon stick out of your Avena and pour the entire Avena content into your iced blender.
  • Blend until all crushed ice is dissolved. You can add as much ice as you would like. The more ice you add the thicker the consistency.

Breakfast Avena Smoothie Recipe Strawberries

  • Next, add your strawberries or your favorite fruit into the mix. You can also leave it as is and just add a little bit of cinnamon. Blend together until smooth.
  • Pour into a cup with ice to finish cooling off and you are ready to run out the door with a healthy breakfast!

Breakfast Avena Smoothie Recipe Breakfast on the Go

If you are in a rush moms you still have to remember to eat, so instead of cooking everything on the stove just pour everything in a microwavable safe bowl.

  • Cook for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until it’s all combined and smooth. Add to blender with your strawberries and ice.
  • Blend together until smooth and pour into a to-go cup, top while a dash of cinnamon and head on out! Check it out below!

So glad that while on vacation this Avena Smoothie will be my breakfast daily! No time for breakfast at the beach! Plus it’s so yummy! #50YearsofBreakfast #ad

I am not a big breakfast person, so smoothies are a perfect option for me. They give me the nutrition I need and they are not super filling, either.

This looks yummy! We start every morning over here with a smoothie, just because it’s an easy way to add more fruits & veggies into our day right off the bat. I’ve never tried adding cinnamon to my strawberry smoothies, though- I’m wondering if a few sprinkles of it ground would work well, as I don’t boil my smoothies first?

I would never have thought of putting cream of wheat in a smoothie. We put oats in ours though. I’ve never used Carnation Breakfast, but your smoothie looks good.

I like pretty much every berry out there. Will be trying this with blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. I think it might be good with banana too. I had Banana Cream of Wheat and it was delicious

It’s hard to think of what ingredients to put together to make a great smoothie for kids. That cinnamon flavor paired with strawberries sound too good. I wanna try it soon for a healthy and filling breakfast.
