Most of the time, when I allow my girls in the kitchen to cook with me, they are more likely to try out what they cook themselves.
It’s a great way for them to see how all the ingredients are put together to create such great flavors. Even if the recipe calls for spinach!
Allow your children to help in the kitchen to make this yummy treat.
They won’t believe how good it is after they have made it.
It has amazing flavors and hidden nutrients for your growing kids.
Ingredients To Make Frozen Veggie Pops
- 1 cup of yogurt (your choice)
- 1 cup of frozen berries
- 1/2 cup of baby spinach
- 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
- Frozen treat molds
Tip: Remember, you can also just serve this up as a smoothie to drink.
How To Make Delicious Fruit and Vegetable Popsicles
Creating smoothies is one of the easiest ways for my girls to get their vitamins and minerals.
Especially since they don’t eat any green veggies or salads. I know! I’ve tried everything, and the only thing that works are these smoothie pops.
I encourage you to create your own recipes and combinations of fruits with veggies.
Add your kid’s favorite fruit to offset the flavors of spinach or beets.
This recipe takes just a few minutes to make and then a few hours to freeze, or allow your kids to drink it instead.
The choice is up to you!
- Place the spinach, berries, and yogurt in a single-serve blender.
- Blend everything together until smooth.
- Pour into your pop molds and freeze overnight.
- Loosen pops from molds to remove by running under warm water for a few seconds.
Tip: I love my Ninja blender because it removes all the chunks and is perfect for freezing.
Super easy to make, and I will guarantee that your kiddos will enjoy them this summer and not even know you added any kinds of greens in them. If you don’t want them to know.
I hope you give this yummy and healthy recipe a try!
I bet you will love it just as much as your kiddos will!
Don’t have time to freeze them? This recipe would still taste good as a smoothie on the go!
Making The Best Choices For Your Kids
Although allowing your kids to help create this recipe is a great idea, your kids might not eat it after they see what’s in the recipe.
So, if you think it’s best to create the recipe yourself and then allow your kids to enjoy it. Then do so!
There’s no right or wrong way to ensure your kids eat healthier.
My girls wouldn’t even touch food when I allowed them to help with recipes like my pasta sauce, where I added veggies to it.
My older daughter refused when she was younger, but now she has no problem enjoying my homemade sauce.
