I would have to say that the second most difficult holiday is Thanksgiving, with Halloween being the number one. As a mom of a child who has food allergies, family events that include foods always worry me! You never know what’s in the food or if the yummy pumpkin pie your child wants to have contains something that could literally stop her breathing. For the past few years we usually eat before or bring our own foods, but this year with Kaelyn’s food allergies changing so much, we can breathe a little bit better.
That doesn’t mean that our guard will be down. In fact her peanut allergy has risen since last year, so you can bet that if we even sense a bit of peanuts anywhere we are most likely we will avoid it or even leave. Yes, we are that protective! When it comes to our daughters life, we will take every precaution possible. Even if it hurts someones feelings, which we have in the past.
Because of this I decided to do a little bit of research and put together some recipes together that might make your Thanksgiving a little bit less stressful!
