Interview with Black Panther Executive Producer Nate Moore | Black Panther Now On Blu-Ray/DVD
Black Panther has been one of the biggest movies to hit theaters in 2018. Fans went crazy when the King of Wakanda showed us what he was about. My husband had not seen the movie and was excited to have a date night with me, but mostly with Black Panther. Haven’t had the chance to see the movie? Check out my spoiler-free Black Panther Movie Review and Is It Appropriate For Kids.
About Black Panther
Marvel Studios’ BLACK PANTHER follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
Interview with Black Panther Executive Producer Nate Moore
We were super lucky to be one of the first ones to get a look at the bonus features for the Black Panther Blu-Ray/DVD release. To be able to watch these bonus features and then have a chance to speak with Executive Producer of Black Panther Nate Moore was phenomenal to get our questions answered.
Choosing What To Add To The Bonus Features
Just like anything, the team gets together for a brainstorming session and bring up the most interesting parts of the movie. They then have to go and approve the scenes to be shown to make sure there are no spoilers giving anything away.
This movie just happened to have a lot of really in-depth stuff because the building of Wakanda was so complicated. Unlike other films like Captain America, which I loved and worked on, but that world is a bit more familiar to audiences.
Choosing Which Scenes To Delete
This is something that I myself was curious about. How can producers choose which scenes need to be deleted from such an amazing movie? Are we missing anything in the storyline? These are questions I always wondered, but Nate Moore answered them perfectly.
Deleted scenes that are in the film are all scenes that people loved but ultimately when we removed it, it actually helped the movie play better.
Not Your Typical Easter Egg Movie
If we know Disney and Marvel, they love adding those special Easter Eggs into their films. Black Panther was a bit different. Although there are a few in the film, there’s not as many as you would think and it was done intentionally. Nate Moore mentioned that Kevin Feige didn’t want to have “different intersections” to make sure the movie stood alone and wasn’t compared to the other Marvel films.
There’s so much storytelling and so much detail that we actually were able to keep a lot of that stuff out. I think it helps the movie just feel like it’s own experience and not just another.
