Dumbo Circus Cake Mix Cookies

Dumbo is one of the classic Disney movies I grew up watching as a child. I can’t wait to take my girls in just a few weeks to see the live action version of the film in theaters. They have watched the original Dumbo movie, but I know that the newer version will be something they really enjoy. This Dumbo inspired sugar cookie recipe is perfect for making to celebrate the movie. The recipe is easy to make with a cake mix box that I’m sure is to be a flying success!

Ingredients Needed For Dumbo Cookies

1 box of White cake mix
1/3 cup of vegetable oil
2 large eggs
Red, Golden Yellow, Blue gel food coloring
1 container of white sanding sugar

How To Make Dumbo Circus Sugar Cookies

Preheat oven at 350º degrees.
Using a standing mixer, combine cake mix, vegetable oil, and 2 eggs until combined.
Divide the batter into three separate bowls.
Add Golden Yellow food coloring into one bowl.
Mix Red food coloring into the second bowl.
Use Blue food coloring into the third.
Take about 1 teaspoon of each color of dough and form into tablespoon sized balls.

Pour the sanding sugar into a bowl.
Roll cookie dough into the sanding sugar.
Place cookie dough balls about 2 inches apart on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.

Lightly push each cookie dough ball down so that it becomes a thick but flat disk.
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes.
Allow cookies to completely cool before.
