Oven Baked Cheerios Chicken Strips

Homemade Chicken Strips

One of the things that I love about making homemade chicken strips or tenders at home is the fact that I can season the chicken exactly the way my girls like it.

Plus, I get to experiment with different types of coating and see what works for us.

I’ve used bread crumbs, panko, Corn Flakes cereal, and many more ways, but my girls seem to love it when I use the multi grain Cheerios cereal.

So, I decided that when I remade this recipe I would share it with all the parents out there who have kids who love chicken fingers as much as my daughters do!

These baked chicken fingers are super easy to make and a great way to get the entire family helping in the kitchen.

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Either spray a baking pan with olive oil or use baking sheets to lay your chicken on when baking in the oven.
  • In a medium-size bowl or dish, mix the crushed Cheerios, flour, salt, pepper, and Italian seasonings.
  • Beat your egg in a separate bowl or dish and set aside.
  • Dip each chicken finger in your egg and then in your cereal mix.
  • Lay each piece of chicken flat on your coated or baking sheet covered pan.
  • Bake on 400 degrees for about 20 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly cooked.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.

Tip: I personally like to add my dry ingredients and egg in a dish that has more room to dip my chicken strips in.
