What Are The Best Rides For Kids At Universal Studios?
Let me start by saying that my girls have very different personalities! Where my 9-year-old loves the thrills, my 7-year-old loves a more mellow approach but is willing to try a ride if I tell her it’s okay for her. This list of best rides for kids at Universal Studios Florida takes account both of their personalities, so they both can enjoy them. Most of these have a 40″ height requirement for the kids to be able to ride, with the exception of Men In Black, which has a requirement of 42″.
- Transformers: The Ride 3D
- Despicable Me Minion Mayhem
- Men In Black
- Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl
- Woody Woodpecker’s Nuthouse Coaster
- E.T. Adventure
- Hogwarts Express: King’s Cross Station
- Shrek 4-D
More Rides, But The Kids Can Do Without
These are a few more rides at Universal Studios, but if you are in a crunch and want to make sure to hit all of the best rides, here are a few you can skip when running out of time. I would say that my hubby and I enjoy these rides more than my girls do, but they are still kid-friendly in speed.
- Fast & Furious – Supercharged
- Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon
- The Simpsons Ride
Rides More On The Thrill Side
- Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
- Revenge of the Mummy
- Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit

What’s The Best Way To See and Do Everything At Universal Studios Florida?
Universal Studios is a large park, so I always suggest that if you want to do and see everything give yourself a few days. This will make sure that you can hit all the rides, shows, attractions, characters, and food.
Now if you have to do Universal Studios in one day then I always, always suggest staying at one of the Universal Orlando Hotel properties like Cabana Bay Beach Resort where it will include early access to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. This part of the park will easily take up half of your day exploring, casting spells, and drinking all the butterbeer until your heart’s content. Especially if you are a Harry Potter fan!

My other favorite tip on experiencing Universal Studios in one day is to purchase the Universal Express Pass or VIP Experience. Personally, we love the Universal Express Pass for our family and it’s totally worth it. This pass allows you to skip the regular pass and bypass to almost the front of the line. No matter how busy the park is, the Express line will always be half the wait time.
Note: The Premiere Hotels on property also include the Universal Express Pass as a perk of staying at the resort. Totally worth it if you ask me!
I hope that this parents guide to Universal Studios Florida helps your family plan the best vacation ever! As huge them park fans I know how important it is to be able to experience everything during a vacation, especially when you have younger kids. Making sure everyone in the family has the best time possible is a priority!
