Alex Inc. New Television Show Premieres On ABC | The Perfect Family Show + Cast Interviews
If you’re a fan of Scrubs then you know that both Zach Braff and Matt Tarses were apart of the production of the show. So, that just tells you a little bit of how much fun Alex, Inc. is going to be. This show is something that could be watched as a family every week. Perfect for spending quality time together and enjoying a few laughs with the Schuman family.
We were lucky enough to watch a few episodes of Alex, Inc. including the pilot, which was directed by Zach Braff. The show is based off a real-life story of a dad who decided to start his own business as a podcaster. On Alex Schuman’s journey, we see him create a business from the ground up as he also has to weigh in the everyday life of family, marriage, and parenthood.
Bringing A Real Multicultural Family On Screen
One of the things that we were all impressed about was the fact the producers kept the family as real as possible. By that, I mean keeping the heritage of the characters as specific to the real-life actor’s background. The real-life Rooni, is actually Persian-American, while Tiya Sircar is Indian-American. The producers decided to create a more realness to the characters they were playing. Allowing families to see themselves and relate to the family.
Tiya’s parents were brought into the studio to help out with the cultural background for storylines. They wanted to portray life scenarios, events, and celebrations with as much detailed as possible.
Zach Braff shared how Tiya being from Texas has a southern accent. “I had never seen a woman speak in Bengali and then end it with y’all. I was like I want that in our show!”
A Show The Entire Family Can Watch
When the show was pitched to Zach Braff he wanted to make sure the show was catered to families. Being able to create a comedy that both kids and parents could enjoy was his goal. While still making sure that they were keeping the storyline as close to real-life as possible.
“After dinner, before we put our kids down, there’s not a ton of content that we all wanna watch together”. – Zach Braff
I love that Alex, Inc. is going to be a comedy about a family that families can watch together. I know my girls will love the show and will appreciate the storyline the younger kiddos in the show have.

Zach Braff was so funny in Scrubs. I miss that show. I hope this one will be just as funny if not funnier.
