The holidays are upon us and they can be quite stressful, so I wanted to share with you all 5 Things I’m Doing To Nourish My Body and Soul right now. By creating a daily routine on how to nourish your body, your health will become more important.
5 Things I’m Doing To Nourish My Body and Soul
One thing that I have learned in the past 3 months is that our body is our vessel. If we do not take care of our vessel, just like changing oil in a car, then that vessel will leave us stranded. It’s the same with our body, the better we take care of ourselves by implementing healthy habits, the better we will feel.
Healthy Eating
Eating healthy is not always the easiest thing to do, especially when the holidays roll around. Making sure that you always have plenty of vegetables and fruits around the house will really make a difference on the way you snack. Snacking is usually my downfall. Instead of going for the healthier choices like a fruit, I tend to go for the carbs, but by having health snacks like almonds and bananas at hands reach has really made a difference on my daily choices. Believe me, I do have my cheat days!
Yoga
Now that I am not allowed to attend my regular Zumba classes (Oh, how I miss you!) I have exchanged my fast pace dancing classes for some quiet yoga at home. You will also be surprise at how much your body will change and stretch while doing yoga. There’s just something about pulling out my mat and being able to take my time when changing poses that really relaxes the mind, body, and soul. Which really goes in hand with my next tip.
Meditation
Mediation is something that you can do along with yoga, or simply take quite time during the day to focus on yourself. All it takes is a few minutes of your day and you will be surprised how much more in tune you will be with your body. There are times when I’m not feeling good and just by sitting on my back porch to just relax my mind helps a great deal or on those days where the kids are just not listening, instead of losing your cool just take a moment for yourself away from the family.
Writing
One of my biggest way for me to let things out is by writing. I don’t always share everything on the blog, because some things are more personal, but just by putting it down on paper makes a huge difference. Being able to express the way you feel without being judged is important and it’s a better way of dealing with stressful situations in life.
Vitamins and Supplements
One of things that I have gotten better at is making sure that I’m taking my daily intake of NatureMade vitamins and supplements. It’s something my body really needs and I can tell a difference when I’m not consistent. I’ve always been good at taking my multivitamins, but lately B12 is what’s on my daily intake. I have my entire family taking Vitamin C just to be on the safe side, unfortunately mommy can’t risk on getting sick.
