Summer is almost here and everyone can’t wait until school is over, but that doesn’t mean that your child should turn everything off, especially their brains. Instead check out my Tips To Spark Your Child’s Mind This Summer with only 15 minutes a day.
Tips To Spark Your Child’s Mind This Summer
This summer help your child prepare for the upcoming school year, by keeping information fresh in their minds while using Carson-Dellosas Summer Bridge Activities workbook. As a homeschooling family we really never stop learning throughout the year. We might take breaks here and there, but when it comes to learning, it’s really something my girls do all day long.
It really doest take much time throughout a day, but because summer is almost here, my girls are all about pools, beaches, and fun with the family. I need to make sure to spark their mind in some way that really will catch their attention, but won’t take me hours to prepare for.
I love that the Summer Bridge Activities workbook really covers everything that my daughter needs to review all summer long, including hands on activities for science lessons, which is a big plus for us.
Best part is your not spending hours a day doing school work, instead for just 15 minutes a day you will providing your child an award-winning series which will help prevent summer learning loss and prepares your child for the school year ahead.
Believe me when I say that summer learning loss is real! I can’t begin to tell you as a former teacher how my students would forget everything they have already learned and as a homeschooling mom I always try to keep my daughters minds active.
To spark your child’s mind this summer try some of these basic tips that I use at home and always shared with my class parents when I taught in a classroom.
- Include hands on activities: Try creating some fun science experiments that don’t take up much time or simply go outside and plant flowers. It’s a great way for kids to learn about plants, nature, and pollination. Plus, it will be fun for the both of you.
- Work For A Small Amount Of Time: There is no need to do school work for hours at a time, instead do about 15-20 minutes a day with your child. If you are learning about money, bring out real coins. This will make it that much more interesting for your child.
- Encourage Your Child: Summer is suppose to be fun, don’t be hard on your child. Instead encourage them to do a page or two in their workbook using positive re-enforcemnt as rewards.
- Reward For Summer Work: Rewards don’t have to be big or expensive, especially in the summer time. Instead encourage your child to do the amount allotted for the week and they can earn an ice cream cone or simply a day at the beach. I bet your child will be more willing to spend 15 minutes a day for a beach day!
