I was invited by Disney on board the Disney Magic for a an exclusive showing of Tangled: The Musical. All magical experiences and opinions are mine alone.
Last week on St. Patrick’s Day I got invited to an exclusive showing of Tangled: The Musical Aboard The Disney Magic Disney Cruise Line while it was docked in Port Canaveral. It really was a magical day! Anytime Pixie Dust arrives in my inbox it’s a dream come true! Especially because we are such Disney fans!
Tangled: The Musical Aboard The Disney Magic
I remember when the Disney Cruise Line first set sailed, especially because it was a gift my parents gave to me on my 16th birthday. My parents, siblings, and myself had the most amazing time. Although, it was quite a bit ago, I do remember being such an amazing experience.
Of course anything Disney does is always beyond spectacular so don’t expect anything less as soon as you board the Disney Magic! From the moment you walk on the Magic you know that Disney is behind everything!
From the hidden Mickey’s everywhere to a statue of Mickey Mouse himself on the wheel. You know that your trip is going to be one memorable one!
Once you board the ship one of the amazing options is to watch Tangled: The Musical in the Walt Disney Theatre. Which also shows Disney Dreams: An Enchanting Classic and Twice Charmed: An Original Twist on the Cinderella Story. All shows rotate around throughout your voyage at sea. So, make sure to stop on by and check them out!
The story follows pretty much what we know of the animated version Tangled. Starting with Flynn Ryder as the opening act and coming up with Rapunzel in her tower.
The music of course is by Alan Menken, which was absolutely phenomenal to hear on stage. My girls and I are a huge fan of the all the songs in Disney’s Tangled, so I was super excited to hear that he had created two songs specifically for Tangled: The Musical! You don’t want to miss this!
The acting and the music was amazing! As a really big theater and broadway fan, I was not disappointed! Instead, I was actually amazed at the amount of stage changes, dancing, and overall performances throughout the show.
When you think about watching a musical on stage on a boat, you definitely don’t expect to have spectacular lighting and effects. Well, I should have known better when it comes to Disney!
I love it when shows bring in actors who remind you so much of the original character! The humor, characteristics, and musical expectations were all there!
From Flynn Ryders smolder and Rapunzel’s innocence to the world beyond her tower it has to be one of my favorite shows on stage and like I said I’m a big fan of on stage musicals, so I’ve seen quite a few on broadway.
I will admit, there might have been a few tears during some of the scenes! I’m still in disbelief how beautiful the lantern scene was during the show. The way they made you feel as you were apart of the entire ceremony for the lost princess was really priceless!
My only regret during the show, was not having my girls with me! I know that they would have loved it as much as I did! So, if you are sailing on the Disney Magic soon, make sure to see Tangled: The Musical! It’s a show not to be missed!
Sailing with the Disney Cruise Line is on my bucket list to do with my own family hopefully very soon! So, hope to see you onboard!
Stay tuned for some more fun aboard the Disney Magic!
Have you ever sailed on the Disney Magic and watched Tangled: The Musical?
