As a former elementary school teacher, I know first hand how difficult it can be for an educator to have all the necessary supplies during back to school. To help a classroom in need during back to school season is not as difficult as parents and volunteers might think. That’s why I’ve partnered together with BIC to share some tips on how easy it can be to help a classroom in need. Thank you, BIC USA Inc., for sponsoring today’s post. All educational opinions are my own.

How To Help A Classroom In Need During Back To School

Many of us don’t know how much teachers spend yearly on their classroom supplies and materials. Oh, how I remember those days! As much as I loved purchasing items for my students and classroom, but bank account wasn’t as excited. Any little helped when parents or community members donated items to our classrooms. It made such a difference in our community and in our students knowing that others cared as much as to donate school supplies their parents were not able to afford. Helping out a classroom this school year is easy and won’t cost a fortune. Check out some of my tips below.

How To Help A Classroom In Need During Back To School With Big Bucks for Teachers

Bic Bucks for Teachers

This is an awesome way to give back to teachers, plus purchase items that you may need in your home or can donate to classrooms. This back-to-school season, BIC USA Inc. is donating $100,000 to DonorsChoose.org, a crowdfunding site for public school teachers. To support the program, consumers who purchase $10 or more of BIC® stationery products (before taxes and coupons) through September 15 can apply to receive a $10 BIC Bucks donation code to donate to a classroom project of their choice. It’s that easy!

How to help schools with supplies

Create a Teacher Basket

Another great way to donate to classrooms in need is when you go shopping for Bic Bucks for Teachers is creating a teacher basket filled with school supplies. Purchase supplies for your $10 donation code and with these supplies create a fun-filled basket for teachers with supplies like,

  • Pencils
  • Pens
  • Markers
  • Highlighters
  • Erasers
  • Permanent markers

Pick Up Extra Items

If you’re a parent and are shopping for your kiddos during back-to-school, it would mean the world to their teacher if you purchased extra of each item. Especially if your school is located in a low-income school and know that not many parents will be able to afford the supplies on their back-to-school list. Not only are you helping a child in need, but you are helping a teacher make her job that much easier. When a teacher doesn’t haven’t worry about supplies for their classroom they can concentrate on what’s important, teaching the students. Then turn in your receipt for Bic Bucks for Teachers and you have extra donations for classrooms in need.

I grew up in a really small mining town and was really happy to see some classrooms from there on the donation list. We purchased BIC supplies to help donate too.
