During the busy holiday season we usually forget to eat healthy. Who am I kidding, with all the running around I’m lucky to have a full healthy meal all week long. That’s why I absolutely love this CrockPot Chicken Marsala with Gluten Free Pasta recipe. Not only is it easy to make, but it’s delicious too!
CrockPot Chicken Marsala with Gluten Free Pasta
One of the things that I love about this recipe is that it’s not only easy to make, but it gives me a chance to cook something healthy for my family when all the hustle and bustle of the holidays are around.
I’ve been wanting to start cooking more gluten free recipes, but really wasn’t sure if my family would even like the taste. Let me tell you, they absolutely loved this recipe. Not only did the chicken come out soft and juicy, but the Barilla® Gluten Free Penne pasta is absolutely phenomenal. Made with corn and rice, it has a delicious taste and texture. It really tasted just like regular pasta!
As a BJ’s Wholesale Club Member I love that I can purchase items that I love like the Barilla® Gluten Free Penne in large quantities. Especially because my family really loves pasta. It’s easy to make and you can always create a different sauce and protein to go with it. Like my CrockPot Chicken Marsala recipe!
Check out how easy it is to make!
Ingredients Needed:
- Chicken breast (for our family of 4 I make 3)
- 1 3/4 cup of chicken broth
- 2 garlics diced
- Mushrooms thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 teaspoon of sage
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup of marsala wine
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1 box of Barilla® Gluten Free – Penne
- Crockpot liner (optional)
- Bacon (optional)
To your crockpot add your chicken broth, garlic, 1/2 of your mushrooms, sage, and marsala wine.
Add your chicken breast over all of that and add the rest of your mushrooms over the chicken.
Let the crockpot do all the work on low for about 6-7 hours or on hight for 3-4 hours.
About 30 minutes before you are ready to eat, go ahead and add your bacon to the oven to cook for about 15 minutes on 400 degrees.
Now you are ready to add the heavy cream to your chicken marsala. Move over your chicken to one side of your crockpot. Pour your heavy cream and gently stir with a spoon. Move your chicken back so that it soaks in all the flavors for about another 15 minutes or until your pasta is cooked.
Cook your box of Barilla® Gluten Free Penne pasta according to the direction on the box.
Scoop your past in a bowl and lay your chicken marsala on top with lots of mushrooms! Pour some of the marsala sauce over your pasta, sprinkle some crumbled bacon, and enjoy!
How simple is that? A healthy, filling, and certified gluten free meal that the entire family is sure to enjoy!

It’s the first time I cook it in the crockpot as well. I was looking for something that we love but to make it in a simpler way 🙂 And it worked! Yay!
