Mini Banana Cream Pie recipe is perfect for the beginning of spring! A fun and easy dessert to make with the family.
Mini Banana Cream Pie
I created this recipe so that our family could celebrate the Minions movie coming out.
Especially since my youngest daughter is obsessed with the Minions and bananas just like them.
The recipe is super easy to make, and it’s perfect for making with the kids’ help.
My girls love helping me in the kitchen, especially if it’s a dessert recipe.
Most of the time, they are licking the bowl rather than helping, which makes it that much more fun!
If your family loves a delicious mini dessert, make sure to make these banana cream pies with easy ingredients.

I separated how to make the crust first and then the banana filling, which is the yummiest part!
Okay, fine! The crust is just as good!
I mean, anything made with wafer cookies has to be good. Right?
Ingredients For Crust
- Box of vanilla wafer cookies (keep a handful to use on top)
- 1/3 cup of melted butter
Ingredients For Banana Filling
- 1 box of instant vanilla pudding
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1/2 cup of frozen whipped cream
- Sliced bananas
- 2 plastic baggies or frosting bags with tips
How To Make Mini Pie Crust
The trick to making the pie crust is to take it slow and not burn the crust.
Be patient when forming and pressing the crust mixture into your mini pan.
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Using a food processor, pulse your vanilla wafer cookies until only crumbs remain. If you don’t have a food processor, as I did for so long, you can easily crush them by using a plastic baggie and a rolling pin.
- Add your vanilla wafer cookie crumbs and melted butter to a medium-sized bowl. Mix until all ingredients are combined.
- Spray your mini cupcake pan. Using a spoon, add your crumbs to each cupcake space, making sure that you are pressing firmly and creating a pie shape.
- Press down in the middle to create a deep space for your filling.
- Bake for about 10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow your mini pie crusts to cool off completely before adding the filling.
How To Make Banana Pie Filling
This part will be hard for you to make without wanting to dip your fingers. I don’t blame you!
It’s the part that my daughters love the most, and it’s because it just tastes so yummy!
- Add your instant vanilla pudding powder, 1 cup of milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla with a mixer.
- Mix until nice and fluffy.
- Add 1/2 a cup of the frozen whipped cream and fold it into the pudding mix. This will create a nice fluffy pudding recipe.
- Slice your bananas thin and set aside.
How To Make Mini Banana Cream Pie
Here’s where all the magic happens!
Now it’s time to put everything together and make your mini banana cream pies to enjoy!
- Add your filling and frozen whipped cream each into two separate plastic baggies.
- Cut the tip-off. This will make it easy to fill in your pies.
- Squeeze a bit of the filling into one of your pie crusts, add a slice of banana, squeeze some frozen whipped cream, and top with a mini vanilla wafer cookie.
That’s it! Super simple and so much fun to do with the family!
The expression on my girl’s face says it all! Since then, it’s become one of their favorite dessert recipes.
We love making recipes that match whatever movie we watch on Friday nights, which sometimes means getting into a recipe as we did with this one!
I hope your family has just as much fun making mini pies and enjoying your favorite movie!

abccreativelearning says
Yes absolutely! I think this give it more of a banana taste π Let me know how the turn out!

these banana mini pies look delicious. my stove (oven) decided it was taking a baking break(LOL), in the middle of making sugar cookies. so no baking for awhile. i made a little different mini treat with the same crust, but put pie filling in the cups.i did cherry, blueberry and apple. they were gone in an hour and was asked how i made them. well liked.
linda says
put cream cheese pie filling in cups, then fruit on top.
abccreativelearning says
YUP! You can totally do that as well! We tried a few different ways too π
abccreativelearning says
Linda, you can also put the crust in the fridge for a bit until it sets and then add the filling. I like to bake them because it gives them a bit of more crunch π But it’s not necessary to bake. I think I will add that to the post, thanks a bunch!!

My nearly two-year-old saw this photo in the corner on Facebook as I was scrolling. He pointed and said, “Wook!” So we did and then I was requested to make them. Lol I will be doing these for a New Years Eve treat since there is already so much to bake for Christmas. They look so tasty. I cannot wait to make and try them!
abccreativelearning says
AWE!! That’s so cute!! Hope you all like them! Let me know what you think π
Lois says
to keep your bananas looking nice, dip them in pineapple juice as soon as you slice them–I like it better than orange (or other citrus) juice because it doesn’t give the bananas a flavor
abccreativelearning says
Great advice Lois! Thanks!
KIP says
Is this a small or large box of instant pudding?
abccreativelearning says
Hi Kendall! I used a small box of instant pudding π

Are you are to make these ahead of time and freeze them? And if not freezing them, will they still hold together for a day?
abccreativelearning says
I’ve never tried freezing them, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. I think it’s a great idea to make them the night before a party and then they are ready to go. They should defrost pretty quick as well.
Abbie says
How long will everything keep once it is made?
abccreativelearning says
If you keep it in the fridge it will keep for a while. Maybe even just cut the bananas as you need to, that’s the one thing that will turn brown. So, maybe do those right before you are ready to it π
britt says
Hi, what is the yield on this recipe? Thanks!
Victoria says
Hi Britt! It depends on the size of your muffin tins, but with the smaller size, it made almost two dozens π Hope that helps!
Mary says
Whatβs the trick getting the .pie crust out without crumbling and falling apart?
Victoria says
If it’s too crumbling I would add more melted butter to compact it together.
McKinley Conant says
These are so cute! Can’t wait to see your they turn out!
But I’ve quick question… Maybe I’m drunk for asking this, but to me, your directions make no sense… You say to add the 1/2 c. frozen whipped cream to the pudding mix to make it fluffy and then you say directly after to put the pudding and the 1/2c. Of whipped topping in two separate bags…. So do I add some of the whipped cream to the pudding mix? Or leave them completely separated?
Thanks for your recipe!!
Can’t wait to check out your other recipes!!
Victoria says
HI McKinley, I will definitely correct that. I meant to add half of the 1/2 cup to the mix and then save the rest for the topping. I hope that makes sense and helps π I hope you enjoy them!
