4 Tips For An Effortless Wine Tasting Party
No kids? I’m in
Wine? Even better!
Appetizers? Get in my belly!
My thoughts when it comes to any type of holiday. Whether it’s St. Patrick’s Day or Christmas, my group of mommy friends are always ready for some wine tasting fun! Now that we have become pretty much “experts” in this department, I’m sharing how you too can have as many wine tasting parties as we do effortlessly!
Coravin Model Two Wine System
One of the tedious things about a wine party is having to open all of our wine with an opener, but not with the Corvine Model Two Wine System from Best Buy. The Coravin Wine System easily allows us to pour wine while leaving the cork in place. Perfect for wine tastings! Using capsule load cell technology we can pour a small amount of wine to taste while creating an airtight seal. Ensuring no gas escapes from the bottle. Keeping it fresh for longer.
Plus, it’s easier to use than a corkscrew! To use insert the Coravin needle through the cork, tip the bottle and press the trigger to pressurize. When you remove the needle, the cork will reseal to preserve the wine remaining in the bottle for weeks, months, or even years. No more throwing away old wine!
Wine of Course
The best way to do a wine tasting is to have everyone bring a bottle of their favorite wine. You can either do tastings for both white and red on the same night, but we like to alternate. Sometimes we will do both and other times we do just one. Plus, with everyone bringing a bottle it takes the cost of hosting down as well.
Just make sure that if you are doing a tasting for both red and white that you separate when you do them. Do white tasting first and then finish off with your reds because they have a bolder taste.
Have your guests bring the bottle in a paper bag with the label covered all ready for your tasting.
Appetizers
Along with the wine, each guest is also to bring an appetizer or dessert to share with the group. Not only ensures that you the host don’t spend out of pocket money, but most of the time guests will bring appetizers that go well with the wine they choose. Also, you want to make sure to have some food while tasting all that wine.
Some great assortments are dips, cheeses, crackers, fruits, olives, deli meats, and bite-size desserts.
Tally Up and Choose a Winner
The goal of the wine tasting is to experiment with new wines. Score your wine while you taste from 1-5, at the end, all the points are added up naming a guest as the winner. The dollar store is the perfect place to find some cute and fun prizes for the guest who brings the winning wine. It doesn’t have to be something elaborate, just an enjoyable seasonal wine glass or apron will do the trick!
If you love wine and love hosting wine parties make sure to head on over to Best Buy to pick up your Coravin Wine System! Believe me, your wine will thank you!
