When it comes to cooking dinner I absolutely enjoy it, but there are days that I’m just exhausted and need something quick and easy to cook! One of my families favorite meals are hamburgers, but burgers can really be cooked in so many different ways! Check out this One Pot Family Dinner to Celebrate National Hamburger Month with Hamburger Helper®.
I love that there are so many different variety of flavors and recipes that can easily be cooked for dinner. Three times out of the week we are at dance, soccer, and theater classes, so by the time we arrive home it’s late and everyone is exhausted. Including this momma! All I want to do is throw a few ingredients in a pan and let them cook and that’s exactly what I get with Hamburger Helper®.
I also love that I can shop at my local Walmart store and pick up all the ingredients I need to create this easy One Pot Family Dinner Meal. Another great part of this meal is that it’s also very affordable and only a few extra ingredients need to create. You can find Hamburger Helper® Cheeseburger Macaroni in the pasta aisle.
Ingredients needed to create this One Pot BBQ Cheeseburger Pasta:
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 2 cups hot water
- 4 cups milk
- 1 box (11.6 oz) Hamburger Helper™ cheeseburger macaroni Twin Pack
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup bacon bits
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
Because we are a family of four I went ahead and cut the recipe above in half. Now I can use my extra ingredients and a different Hamburger Helper® meal to create tomorrow’s dinner.
Step One: In a skillet, cook your ground turkey over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked. Drain excessive liquid.
Step Two: Stir in hot water, milk, uncooked pasta and sauce mix (from Hamburger Helper box) with the cooked ground turkey. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
Step Three: Reduce heat to low. Cover pan and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in cheese and 1/4 cup bacon bits. Cover again and simmer for another 5 minutes. Remove pan from heat and uncover (sauce will thicken as it stands).
Sprinkle remaining bacon bits and drizzle barbecue sauce over top of skillet. Stir before serving.

What recipe will you be trying out to celebrate Hamburger Month?

My kids are grown, but when they were younger they liked to help me bake, especially cookies. I love baking cookies, but decorating them isn’t my “thing”, so sprinkles, icing, etc was their “job”. We also liked to make pizzas and would put out bowls of toppings so they could make their own with whatever they wanted on them.

My girls love homemade pizza nights too! It’s one of their favorite things to do on Friday movie nights!

“Looks yummy!
You list garlic in the ingredients list, but I don’t see where you add it to the recipe. I would guess that you add it to the partially sautéed onions?
Thanks!”
